OptionRock page

About

Formed in Jonquière, Quebec in the early 1980s, Voivod are among Canada's most original metal bands. Their blend of progressive thrash, dissonance, science-fiction themes and experimentation earned an international following across several distinct eras.\n\nStart with Killing Technology (1987), Nothingface (1989) and Synchro Anarchy (2022). In June 2026, the band released Symphonique, recorded live with the Quebec Symphony Orchestra. It is a live album, not a new studio record.\n\nConcert photo: Roman Horník — Wikimedia Commons source, CC BY-SA 3.0.
